The ball bearing:

  • extremely low tolerances: (0.035 mm), resulting in little wiggle room
  • Airsoft BBs instead of 3D Printed balls, ensuring good rolling behavior despite small clearance
  • inner diameter: 13mm
  • outer diameter: 29.1 mm

Hello everyone, this is my ball bearing. If you want to know how to assemble it, you can watch my assembly video

For assembly you will need:

  • all 3D Printed parts
  • 7 Airsoft BBs (6mm, any weight)
  • something pointed for assembly

assemble like this:

add 7 BBs:

press the inner ring into the center:

place BBs in a circle, equally spaced from each other:

insert spacer into the ball bearing:

tap it into position with a gentle strike, making sure you hit straight so the ball bearing doesn't break

Instead of Airsoft BBs, one could use 3D Printed BBs, whether this will be successful is debatable. I will link another MakerWorld model that offers high-quality Airsoft BBs, but there is no guarantee that this will work, as the tolerances are extremely low (0.03mm)

→ here it is important that the balls are shrunk to 99.01% because real Airsoft BBs are not 6mm thick, but 5.95 - 5.94mm!
