Description
A modular, support-free, side-shelf for the Harbor Freight Us General Mini Toolbox!
I wanted a side-shelf for my HF Mini Toolbox, but I was disappointed with the available options as all of them required supports. As such, I decided to design my own model that could be printed with zero supports, and still allow the lid to (generally) close. I noticed that the tolerances on these toolboxes can vary, which makes since due to the low price, so the shelf may sometimes be a bit tight on some toolboxes. I have multiple of these mini toolboxes, and sometimes the shelf fingers fit tight, sometimes it is “just right”. YMMV.
NOTE:
This shelf is designed to fit the Harbor Freight Us General Mini Toolbox with a front lip, so it may fit slightly differently if you have the older model with no lip. Lastly, while glue is not required, it would not hurt.
Printing Tips:
For maximum strength, try to ensure that the “finger” of the brackets are printed with NO seams. I've not tested it with seams, but it makes sense to assume maximum tensile strength is achieved with zero seams.
Final:
This model is the third revision, but the first one that I designed to upload. Created in Fusion 360 from scratch. Feel free to modify if desired, or let me know if I can improve the model at all.
