Description

These string line stakes (also perfect as lightweight tent pegs) are a simple but useful design I created for my own backyard projects.

Each stake features a sharp, tapered point that drives easily into soil, turf, or soft ground, and a wide V-notch at the top that securely holds string, mason line, paracord, or guy ropes without slipping. The flat sides make them easy to hammer in (with a mallet or even by hand in softer ground).

Perfect for:

  • Marking straight lines in the garden, lawn, or yard — ideal for edging beds, laying out paths, planting rows, installing fences, or any landscaping project.
  • Securing tents, tarps, canopies, and shelters — works great for camping and outdoor setups.
  • Temporary boundaries, netting, landscape fabric, holiday decorations, or any situation where you need a reliable ground anchor with string.

They  require no supports, and are strong enough for repeated use when printed in sturdy materials like PETG or PLA+.

I originally designed them because I got tired of flimsy store-bought options and wooden pegs that break or rot. These are reusable, colorful (easy to spot), and customizable — feel free to scale them up or down in your slicer for different needs.

Printing tips:

  • Print in PETG for best durability outdoors.
  • No supports needed.

Download, print a batch, and keep them handy — you'll find yourself reaching for these every time you need a perfectly straight line or a secure anchor!
