Dougong 1
Print Profile(1)

Description
This model represents a dougong, a traditional Chinese wooden bracket system used in historic timber architecture. Positioned between the column and the roof beam, dougong transfers the weight of the roof outward and downward, helping support wide eaves and stabilize the structure. It is made from a series of interlocking wooden pieces without nails, combining structural function with ornamental form.
