Description

This ventilation port was specifically designed for culturing springtails and isopods. Anyone maintaining their own feeder insect colonies knows the struggle of manual daily venting. This model provides a permanent solution that is completely escape-proof thanks to an integrated TPU gasket and fine mesh.

Features

  • Escape-Proof: The combination of a TPU gasket and mesh ensures that even the smallest inhabitants cannot crawl out.
  • Screw-In Design: Easy installation on plastic bins or enclosures without the need for adhesives.
  • Versatile: Compatible with various mesh materials depending on your needs.

Print Settings

  • Material: PETG is recommended for its moisture resistance in terrarium environments. PLA is also perfectly fine.
  • Gasket: TPU is required for the sealing ring to ensure a tight fit.
  • Supports: Not required.

Additional Materials Needed

  • A piece of fine mesh (a segment of a nylon stocking works perfectly for this).

Assembly Instructions

  1. Place the printed TPU ring into the designated groove.
  2. Cut your mesh to size and place it over the upper part of the vent.
  3. Secure the mesh by pressing the locking ring firmly onto the upper section.
  4. Cut a suitable hole into your enclosure or bin.
  5. Insert the lower part through the hole.
  6. Screw the upper part tightly onto the lower counterpart to sandwich the bin wall.
