Nostalgic Wooden Train in 70s Style

With this train, I wanted to bring back a piece of childhood.

Inspired by the classic colorful wooden toys, as they were known in the past, this deliberately nostalgically designed toy train in the style of the 70s was created. This simple, friendly, and colorful design was very important to me. I could easily have designed a modern train – but that's exactly what I didn't want. This train is deliberately intended to radiate the charm, warmth, and familiar feeling of that time.

The train consists of a locomotive, a shape wagon, a plank wagon, and a dump wagon. The various loaded shapes not only invite children to play but also playfully encourage motor skills and shape recognition. The tilting dump wagon also provides movement and variety.

Assembly is also deliberately kept simple. The parts can be easily assembled and glued, without needing any special experience. This way, the model remains exactly what it should be → uncomplicated, friendly, and associated with much joy.

For me, this project is very special, as I designed the train for my grandson. Perhaps it will still bring a little bit of the same magic to his face today that such toys used to spread.
