Description

If you've ever spent a 40-minute BART ride hunched over a laptop balanced on your knees, you know it's not so kind for your neck & shoulders. I designed this seat-mounted laptop holder to raise the laptop screen to a more neutral viewing angle, keeping your neck out of that chronic forward-flexed position.

The bracket hooks attach to the seat in front of you — and holds your laptop at an elevated, tilted angle so you're looking forward rather than down. It's fully 3d printable, no additional hardware needed and it folds down to store!

Components

  • Main arm with an integrated print-in-place stabilizer arm that extends into the hooks for rigidity and folds back into the main arm for storage.
  • X-shaped connecting arm with a print-in-place hinge linking the two main arms. Folds together for storage.
  • 4 connecting pins securing the connecting arm to the main arms
  • 7mm lip on the main arms secure my MacBook Air. I'm working on compatibility for other laptop models

Notes and Next-Steps

I've been using this daily in PLA for several months with no creep or failures. It's more stable than I expected! PETG is also a good choice. The print-in-place hinge and stabilizer arm need some prying after printing to free them.

Currently sized for a my 13" MacBook M4 Air (7mm lip). Please comment with your laptop model and lip thickness and I'll work on a compatible version. Looking for suggestions to improve it too!

Hi there! Weird, I selected the P1S as a compatible printer - I’ll try slicing it for the P1S later. Give me a day or two and I’ll keep you updated

I was just able to test a slice for the P1S and it succeeded! Let me know if it works for you now
