Gear Fidget Toy

A simple but satisfying gear mechanism that keeps moving in a loop.

Swap the red and blue gears and see the difference in closed-loop behavior.

A colorful gear-based fidget toy with interlocking gears arranged in a circular layout.

Each gear drives the next, creating a satisfying chain reaction of motion. The design includes multiple gear sizes (6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 15 teeth), making it fun to explore how different gears interact.

Additional STEP files for gears with 11, 12, 13 and 14 teeth are included, allowing you to experiment with different configurations.

Besides being a fun fidget toy, this model can also serve as a small gear storage and reference set, or for experimenting.

Swap gears around to explore different configurations and see how tolerances and meshing change.
For example, swapping the red and blue gears creates a tighter closed-loop interaction.

The circular setup allows the motion to loop around the entire design.

Easy to print and assemble. Gears can be swapped to experiment with different color combinations or filament types (PLA Basic, PLA Silk, etc.).

Fun to spin, satisfying to watch.
