Reckhorn BS-200i Mount for Sim Racing Rig (40x40 Aluminum Profile)

This purpose-built mounting bracket is designed for the Reckhorn BS-200i Bass Shaker, enabling a rigid, vibration-efficient and direct installation onto a Sim Racing rig using 40x40 aluminum extrusion profiles with T-slot systems.

It is engineered specifically for sim racing tactile feedback systems, where the goal is not to dampen vibration, but to transfer it as efficiently as possible into the entire rig structure.

The Reckhorn BS-200i Bass Shaker acts as a tactile transducer, converting audio signals into mechanical vibrations.

This mount ensures that these vibrations are:

  • Not lost through flexible mounting solutions
  • Not dampened by soft interfaces or adapters
  • Instead, efficiently transferred into the aluminum profile structure

Result:
A significantly more immersive and precise tactile feedback experience across seat, pedals, and chassis.

Typical feedback effects supported:

  • Engine RPM vibrations
  • Road surface texture
  • Curbs and rumble strips
  • ABS activation / wheel lock
  • Gear shift impacts
  • Wheel slip / traction loss

⚙️ Design Features

  • Precisely engineered fit for the Reckhorn BS-200i Bass Shaker
  • Designed for 40x40 aluminum extrusion (T-slot compatible as shown in the pic below)

  • 10 mm wall thickness for maximum rigidity
  • Optimized to minimize flex and maximize vibration transfer
  • Integrated mounting points for M4 heat-set inserts

  • Compatible with countersunk screws for flush installation
  • Solid mechanical design with no damping zones → direct energy transfer

In sim racing tactile systems, performance depends heavily on mechanical coupling quality:

❌ Flexible mounts → energy loss, blurred feedback
✅ Rigid aluminum coupling → sharp, detailed vibration signals

This mount is intentionally designed to create a hard mechanical interface between the bass shaker and the aluminum extrusion, ensuring:

  • Maximum energy transfer efficiency
  • Controlled resonance behavior through the rig structure
  • Clean and distinguishable tactile signals

Printing Recommendations

For structural integrity and long-term durability:

  • Material: PETG / ABS / ASA (PLA only limited use recommended)
  • Walls/Perimeters: minimum 4–6 walls
  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm
  • Insert Type: M4 heat-set threaded inserts strongly recommended

🔩 Installation Notes

For optimal performance:

  • Mount tightly to the 40x40 aluminum profile
  • Avoid rubber isolators or soft spacers
  • Ensure rigid metal-to-metal coupling
  • Fully tighten all fasteners to eliminate micro-movement

🏁 Result in Use

When installed correctly, this mount transforms the Reckhorn BS-200i Bass Shaker into a fully integrated tactile feedback system component, transmitting vibrations directly through the entire sim rig.

This significantly increases immersion, making effects feel physical, directional, and structurally connected to the cockpit, rather than localized or muted.
