Summary

Want a cross section showing the moment an allied 37mm armor piercing round hits a German Panzer IV tank?  This is a realistic replica depicting the side armor of a Panzer IV being struck by an anti-tank round.

Bambu filaments used

  • Inner Armor
    • Matte Desert Tan
  • Middle Armor
    • Metal Iridium Gold
    • Metal Copper
  • Outer Armor and Iron Cross
    • Basic Light Gray
    • Matte Black
    • Polymaker Metallic Chrome (Amazon link)
  • 37mm Round
    • Metal Iron Gray Black
    • Sunlu Silk Red Copper (Amazon link)
    • GiantArm Silk Gold (Amazon link) for the Gold Casing if you print the separate 37mm round and casing

Assembly

Panzer IV Tank Armor

Connect the 3 pieces together with the 4 pegs provided.  Note that the flat part with no knarled edge should be on the bottom – use that edge to ensure you have each piece rotate in the right position.

37mm Round

Simply screw together the 3 parts, that's it.  If you decide to print the optional round with casing, then the only remaining step is to insert the black/copper round shown below into the gold casing.

would you ever consider making something like this? a "2.5d" or 3d blueprint? Could be something less ambiguous. Maybe a grenade or something. Maybe something that could fit a cutout model you have already made, or something of the sorts. I also wanted to ask if it would be possible with that grenade model you made, to make a second half to be able to open and close it using hinges

That's interesting, thanks for sharing a photo, I hadn't seen that. I wonder how they got the text so small, that seems like it would be the trickiest part if you have relatively small text usually kind of blobs together and isn't super legible.
