Description

Makita-Inspired Beer Crate – Modular, Multi-Color & Filament-Efficient 🍺

A functional remix with a twist—this beer crate is inspired by the iconic style of Makita, designed with both aesthetics and printing efficiency in mind.

This model is based on a crate design by Michaelwg, reimagined to match Makita-style colors. I added side plates with the branding as well as incorporated it into the bottom of the crate.

Most similar models require hundreds of filament swaps just to achieve the logo and color separation. This version takes a different approach.

🔧 Smart Modular Design

Instead of embedding everything into one print, the crate uses separate side plates with the logo:

  • Print the crate body in one or two colors (max. two filament change if needed)
  • Print the logo plates separately with minimal swaps

👉 Result: massive time and filament savings

✨ Extra Detail

The Makita-style logo is also integrated into the bottom of the crate, doubling as a mesh/grid structure. This not only adds strength but also creates a subtle, high-quality design detail.

📦 Capacity

  • Holds 6 standard 0.5L cans (e.g. beer)

🎨 Filament Note

For the Makita-style green, I used eSun ePLA-Matte Morandi Green

The color is slightly darker and more green than the original Makita tone, but is close enough if you are looking for the right filament.

Features:

  • Makita-inspired design
  • Modular side plates with logo
  • Minimal filament changes (huge efficiency boost)
  • Functional crate for 6 cans
  • Bottom mesh with integrated logo detail
  • Clean and sturdy construction

Important Note:

This is a fan-made project. I am not affiliated with or endorsed by Makita in any way—this is simply a creative interpretation inspired by the brand.
