Plant Terrarium Ultrasonic Mister (PET Bottle Adapter)
This compact humidifier is the ideal solution for small greenhouses, propagation stations, or plant terrariums. The design uses a standard ultrasonic mister ("Mist Maker") and a commercially available PET bottle as a water tank to ensure constant humidity.
Features:
• Universal Bottle Adapter: The thread is designed for standard PET bottles (e.g., water/cola).
• Constant Water Level: Thanks to the physical principle of the "bird bath," the base always holds exactly the right amount of water for the mister.
• Splash Guard: The gray cover prevents water droplets from splashing upwards uncontrollably, while the mist can escape sideways.
• Compact Design: Fits perfectly in corners or on small shelves.
Required Hardware:
1. Ultrasonic Mister: A standard 24V ultrasonic mist maker (approx. 20mm membrane).
2. Water Tank: An empty PET bottle.
Print Settings:
• Material: I recommend PETG or ASA, as the part is permanently in contact with water. PLA can biodegrade or become leaky over time.
• Wall Lines: At least 3-4 walls to make the part watertight.
• Infill: 15-20% Gyroid.
Assembly Instructions:
1. Place the mister into the designated recess in the base.
2. Route the cable through the side cutout.
3. Place the gray protective cover over the mister.
4. Fill the bottle with water, screw the base onto the bottle upside down (or quickly flip it) and place it.
Note: Please ensure that the electronics (power supply) remain outside the humid environment!
