How many times have you struggled with other repair clips? Some are too stiff to press, while others are so confusing or fragile that they snap immediately.

This model aims for the perfect "Original Feel." I designed this to be as close to the genuine RJ45 clip as possible. The clicking and releasing experience is just like the original.

  • Pro Tip: If the fit feels slightly loose, a tiny piece of double-sided tape will make it rock solid. If you're feeling lazy, regular tape works too!
  • ⚠️ Critical Warning: Ensure your Extrusion Multiplier and Pressure Advance (PA) settings are calibrated perfectly. If these are off, the fit might not be accurate, and you could have a hard time using it.

🎉 Update: "Origami Edition" is Finally Here!

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2807652-ethernet-rj45-repair-clip-origami-edition-v1#profileId-3124485
The wait is over! The new "Origami Edition" is now live. This version features a 100% support-free, foldable design. While it requires manual folding and a single drop of superglue, it gives you a flawlessly clean surface finish straight off the build plate.

Now you can choose the version that best fits your needs:

Standard Edition: Simple "Print & Use" (Just remove supports). Best for high-volume repairs and rapid deployment.

Origami Edition (v1): "Fold & Glue" (Support-free, requires assembly). Best for those who enjoy precision mechanics and a clean, seamless look.

I am confident that both versions have their own unique strengths. Choose your favorite and happy printing!

🛠️ Troubleshooting & Removal

Is the clip stuck or difficult to remove? If you find it hard to release, gently slide a thin flathead screwdriver over the pin and pull to remove it.

⚠️ Note: The 3D-printed part may break during this process. This issue usually occurs when Pressure Advance (PA) and Extrusion Multiplier are not strictly calibrated. Please double-check your settings for a perfect fit.

🧪 Development & Material Compatibility

This model is the result of dozens of iterations and stress tests.

  • Best Results: Tested extensively with PLA, ABS, and PETG. (Update 2026.05.07: PETG compatibility and operation have been fully verified.)
  • Not Recommended: TPU is not suitable for this specific design due to its flexibility. Initially, I felt the printing difficulty and required settings were too complex. After numerous revisions, I’ve simplified the design to ensure it’s accessible while maintaining its "Original Feel."

The "Test Pile": Below is a photo of just some of the prototypes and test pieces I've accumulated during the development process (excluding the ones already in use!).
Beyond these successful samples, I’m sure fellow makers can imagine the mountain of discarded prototypes and failed attempts it took to reach this level of precision.

🚧 Known Limitations & Future Updates

I don't consider this model "perfect" yet. To ensure structural strength, I added thickness to the contact points.

  • Current Issue: There might be slight interference if you use these clips on multiple cables plugged in side-by-side (e.g., in a high-density switch). I am committed to improving this design and will release updates to address these spacing issues in future versions.
