Description
A blocky body and cap design for the Platinum Preppy fountain pen, named Behind Corners. The geometry is simple and sharp, with softened edge transitions that give it a distinct look.
Features
- Compatible with the Preppy fountain pen grip section.
- Fits both cartridges and converters.
- Available in three tolerances:
- Tight
- Regular
- Loose (most like a regular cap)
After printing attach and detach the cap 10-20 times to break in the fit. Especially with the tight tolerances the first time might be very tight. This was intentional design.
Materials
Tested in:
- ABS
- PLA CF (looks especially good)
- PETG
- PLA Basic
- PLA Matte
All materials worked well with the same tolerances on all my BambuLab printers.
Important Notes / Instructions
The design works as-is, but the original Platinum slip & seal mechanism can also be reused:
Cut open the original cap at the top and push out the spring and seal, then insert them into the printed cap.
- Attach the clip to the cap using a few drops of super glue.
- Do not change orientation on build plate or print settings. Use original print profile for best results.
- Choose tolerance based on your printer and preference.
