Description

I purchased a no-drill mesh gate for my stairs (Amazon link for reference: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DQ4XVFWX), and a few months after it was installed one of the support brackets broke (the bracket with the screw that one uses to tighten the support to the stair post). Not surprised…even though the gate does its job quite well, the support itself is just a thin piece of plastic.

I found the same support bracket assembly in a different listing, without the gate (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FHZW8LSM), and saw a photo from a customer who had the exact same failure mode, so I'm guessing it might be common. Well…I designed a (much sturdier) replacement - for the female side, at least. Extremely niche part, but maybe it'll help someone.

I may have exaggerated a bit by going full solid part and printing on ASA…but at least that's not the weak link anymore! 😂

In fact, if I have to remove the gate and install it somewhere else I'll probably print 3 more to preemptively replace the OEM ones…

If the male part breaks someday, I'll design and post it here too - they're holding up so far.
