Description

🤖 Jawbot – Fully Articulated Print-in-Place Robot

Meet Jawbot — a chunky, expressive robot with a big bite and fully poseable body. Designed to be fun, durable, and easy to print, this model comes almost entirely assembled straight off the build plate.

🔧 Features

  • ✅ Print-in-place design – no assembly required for main body
  • ✅ Fully articulated joints (arms, legs, shoulders, hips, jaw)
  • ✅ Mechanical claw hands for dynamic poses
  • ✅ Unique stylized “jaw” head design
  • ✅ Minimal post-processing

🧩 Assembly Notes

  • All joints (except fingers) are print-in-place
  • Fingers are attached using short pieces of 1.75mm filament as pins
  • Simply cut small segments and insert them to secure finger movement

⚠️ Important – First Movement

After printing, the joints will be slightly fused by design.

👉 You MUST carefully “snap” the joints loose before use:

  • Gently apply pressure to each joint
  • You’ll feel a small “pop” as the connection breaks free
  • Do this slowly and carefully to avoid damage

Once released, joints should move smoothly.

🧪 Print Settings (Tested)

  • Material: PLA (works great)
  • Layer height: 0.16 mm
  • Supports: ✅ Enabled (auto-generated)
  • Brim: Optional (for extra stability)
  • Infill: 10–15% is enough

💡 Tips

  • If joints are too tight → gently work them back and forth
  • If too loose → slight scaling (99–100%) can help
  • Remove supports carefully around joints
  • A tiny bit of lubricant (optional) can improve motion

This has to be the best robot print I’ve seen. 10/10 hands down I’m working on a futuristic diorama and Jawbot fit perfectly.
