Description

I bought some solar garden lights (I think it was at Action or a similar store), and the poles are made of thin sheet metal that bends at the slightest touch. Even the plastic tips cracked after a week in the ground, and the light ended up pointing downward. I created a model that replaces them almost perfectly. I made the first test print out of PLA, but I’ll make future versions in PETG so they’ll last even longer.

 

I recommend heating the hole where the light goes with a flame to shrink it a bit and harden it directly in contact with the light. It’s much sturdier that way.

The inner diameter is 15 mm.

 

I used extra walls and more infill for greater strength; this isn’t necessary unless you have children or pets in the yard who aren’t careful.
