Description

This is a simple easy to print replacement weight holder compatible with the Lima E 410 001 engine. That is the Deutsche Bahn (DB) Class E 410 HO model.

The original weights can be lost over time in these very old engines, especially when you pick one up second hand.  Without the weight in it, the engine does not run very well at all.

These very old models tended to break near or above the threaded area in the lower chassis, which is another reason the weights would get lost.  You can see in this photo the center area where the weight went.

My holder has specifically been designed to line up with the internal “step” area the original weight conformed to.

Only minimal supports are required during printing.

Once printed, you place the bottom of the holder into the engine compartment. No glue is necessary.

Then install weights of your choice.  This is what I used.

Weights installed:

This provide proper balancing of the weight load.

Then place the cover on top of the holder.  You do not need to glue it or the holder itself because the screw of the engine will hold it all in place.

Place the engine cover back on thread the screw in from the top and you are all set.

I hope this helps someone out.
