Print-ready enclosure for the TrailCurrent Reservoir, a water tank level monitoring module for RVs, trailers, and off-grid vehicles. The 3MF includes slicer profiles, orientation, and ABS settings. Download it, send it to your printer, and it comes out ready to assemble.

What it is

Reservoir reads 12 contactless level sensors across three tanks — fresh, grey, and black water — and reports fill percentages over a CAN bus. Mount it in the utility bay, wire the sensors, and your dashboard has live tank levels without drilling holes or putting anything inside the tanks.

What you need

  • 1x Waveshare ESP32-S3-RS485-CAN board
  • Up to 12x contactless water level sensors (XKC-Y25-T12V or similar, 4 per tank)
  • 1x 20-pin IDC ribbon cable for sensor wiring
  • 4x M3 screws (case assembly)

The case

Two-part design — a bottom tray that holds the board and a cover with embossed tank labels (Fresh, Grey, Black). Connectors are accessible from the side. Mounting screw holes in the corners for wall or panel mounting.

  • Material: ABS or ASA recommended (heat resistance for vehicle environments)
  • Supports: Not required
  • Parts: 2 (bottom + cover)

Part of TrailCurrent

TrailCurrent is an open-source platform that makes any vehicle smarter. Every module — compute, sensors, power, lighting, leveling — connects over a shared CAN bus and works without the internet. All source files including firmware, schematics, and CAD are available on our GitHub.

If you print this and find something to improve, open an issue on the repo and we'll fix it at the source.

About this model

This part belongs to the TrailCurrent collection — a growing set of 3D printable designs for vehicle builds. If you're fitting out a camper, overland truck, trailer, or work rig, browse the rest of the collection on my profile for matching parts. Everything is designed to print cleanly on standard FDM printers without exotic materials or supports where avoidable.
