Description

I found myself needing a bunch of simple cylinder bins for holding tools so I just made all the sizes. Then I needed some more, so I made all the high density versions as well.

Each stl model contains at least 3 bins.

  1. Flat bottom
  2. Magnet Holes
  3. Magnet Holes and printable screw holes

I also added some text to the bottom of each bin showing the size of the hole. This way I can try new tools in existing bins to choose the approximate best one to print. If a tool fits perfectly then I already know which to print without the need to estimate clearances/etc. Sometimes round items form such a complete seal as to create a vacuum when removing the tool. In my experience, when in doubt, size up 1mm.

36mm and below do not impact the outside walls. I've included up to 44mm as anything larger will likely start impacting other bins.

I've also added print profiles that include many of the single sizes. Named plates for each size for easy printing from the app.

Don't let the print time estimates scare you. That is if you printed every possible version instead of just the plate you need.

This collection is a godsend, especially for folks like me that don't know how to use CAD software. The Cylinder Bins print well in PETG, including the diameter size on the bottom of the bins saves the user having to measure bins that work with a caliper every single time, and the inclusion of magnet holes is much appreciated. Many designers hold that magnets are unnecessary when the bin is used in a horizontal drawer. This is hogwash. Especially with smaller bins, not having magnets typically means that you will pull the bin off the grid every time you pull out the object stored in the bin. This is a truly winning design and thank you, @parksddd, for making it available to us. Secret Tip: a diameter of 26mm for the hole is the Golden Ratio of the 42mm Gridfinity square and will make the bin look especially nice.
