Magnetic Pitch: The Soccer Pocket Fidget

I designed this soccer-themed fidget toy for those moments when the game gets too tense and you need something to do with your hands. It’s a great way to handle the nerves during a penalty shootout or just to keep in your pocket for everyday fidgeting.

The project consists of a magnetic base (the pitch) and a magnetic half-ball that snaps and slides across the surface.

Features

• Fuzzy Skin: I’ve applied fuzzy skin to the base to give it a realistic grass-like texture and a great tactile feel.
• Pocket-Sized: Small and portable - perfect for when you're watching the game or on the go.
• Magnetic Action: The ball stays attached but moves freely, providing a satisfying haptic experience.

Hardware Needed

• Magnets: You will need 10 magnets in total (size 6x2mm).
  • 9 magnets for the base.
  • 1 magnet for the ball.

Print Instructions

• Magnet Pauses: The .3mf file is already set up with pauses at the correct layer heights. Just drop the magnets in and resume the print. Important: Double-check the polarity before resuming so the ball actually sticks to the field!
• Color Options:
  • AMS Version: Full multi-color support for the ball and field details.
  • Non-AMS Version: The ball is optimized for single-color printing.

Credits & Remix

The soccer ball used in this project is a remix of the Soccer Ball including parametric F3D by conFusion 360. I’ve modified the design to turn it into a magnetic half-ball that fits perfectly onto the pitch.
