Description

This is a model of the X-Bow from the popular phone game Clash Royale.  Like many of my other Clash models, NO AMS is needed!

Note:  I try to design my models with a friction fit on all the parts, but you will find a few drops of glue will be helpful during assembly.

The assembly is pretty self-explanatory.  Just look at the pictures for reference.

MAKING THE STRING: I decided using a cutoff piece of filament might work for the string and it turned out pretty well.  Cut a piece (use rope colored filament) a little longer than you think you need.  Insert one end into one of the holes on the underside of the wooden “limbs”.  Run some hot tap water and get the filament hot and wrap it around the limb like shown in the pictures.  Mirror this on the other side.  I temporarily pressed the limbs into the barrel part so I could confirm the length of the string I was making was close.  When I was satisfied with the string, I glued the limbs into the barrel.  LET THE GLUE DRY COMPLETELY before moving onto the next step (I was impatient.. learn from my error).  Once the glue is dry, go back to the sink with hot tap water and heat up the filament string and pull on it as if you are drawing it back to arm a cross-bow.  Hold it taught and let it cool in that “drawn” position.  I put a drop of glue onto the string and adhered it to the sprocket.  You might need to find some sort of small clamp or something to hold the string in the sprocket as the glue dries.

Another string option I considered was using a small rubberband or some twine.

ARROW:  The parts are small.  A drop of glue at the feathers and at the arrowhead are needed.  Just work carefully so you don't break anything while assembling.  When the glue is dry, just put it into the barrel for display.

Let me know what you think if you print and assemble this X-Bow!  I made this as a request from a modeler who printed one of my other Clash models.  Be sure to click my user name and check out all the other Clash models I have uploaded!
