This project offers a custom protection solution for your Nothing Phone 4a Pro. Depending on your requirements, two fundamentally different designs are available: a minimalist case for everyday use and a more robust Rugged version for even better protection and individuality.

The Standard Variant: Minimalist and Puristic

If you want to preserve your smartphone's slim profile, opt for the standard variant. This case is designed as a straightforward one-piece print – simply print it, clip in your phone, and use it immediately. In this version, additional protection for the camera module was deliberately omitted to keep the design as flat and unobtrusive as possible.

The Rugged System: Stronger, Modular, and Tactile

For even better protection, I designed the Rugged variant. This case is additionally reinforced at the corners and features a modular backplate concept. A separate bumper encloses the camera module, effectively protecting the lenses from scratches and impacts. A real upgrade for usability comes from the three separately printed, tactile buttons for the volume rocker, power button, and essential key. These buttons are placed into the case from the inside before inserting the smartphone, providing a crisp, mechanical pressure point.

Backplates: Anti-Wobble Design or Cash-Carry

The core of the Rugged version is its interchangeable backplates. The regular standard backplate with diagonal notches, as well as the "N" edition (with an integrated N-logo), are specifically adapted to the height of the smartphone. They precisely compensate for the camera module's protrusion. The result: The device lies perfectly flat on the table without wobbling, while also offering more grip.

As a third option, the Cash Edition is available. This variant features a precisely fitted recess for a 30 mm wide rubber band. The band is threaded through and glued flat to the inside of the plate with a few drops of superglue. This creates an extremely practical holder for securely carrying banknotes on the back of the phone. Important: Due to this special construction, the Cash Edition is the only one of the three plates that is not height-adjusted.

Material and Assembly

Both designs were developed for printing with PETG and successfully tested with PLA. TPU is theoretically possible but as yet untested (we currently have none in stock) – feel free to leave feedback. For a permanently stable assembly of the Rugged version, you should finally fix the camera bumper and your preferred backplate in the main case with a few drops of superglue. For a nicer appearance, we created the print profiles with a layer height of 0.16mm.

Enjoy! :-)
