Description

This is a functional replacement cap designed for industrial canisters and containers commonly found in Europe and globally. The model is engineered with 3D printing tolerances in mind to ensure a smooth fit out of the box.

Thread Profile & Dimensions

  • Thread Type: Buttress Thread (S-Thread / Sawtooth)
  • Standard: DIN 51 (Commonly used for 5L, 10L, and 25L canisters)
  • Major Diameter (Male/Canister): 56.0 mm
  • Minor Diameter (Male/Canister): 51.0 mm
  • Pitch: 5.0 mm
  • Thread Profile: Asymmetrical (Buttress) with a flat crest for high pressure and load resistance.
  • Clearance (Tolerances): The model includes a 0.2 mm - 0.3 mm offset on thread flanks to account for typical 3D printer "over-extrusion" and friction.
  • Internal Minor Diameter: Designed at 52.0 mm to provide a 0.5 mm radial clearance over the canister neck.
  • Entry Chamfer: A 1.0 mm lead-in chamfer is added to the base for easy alignment when starting to thread the cap.
  • Grip: Vertical knurling/ribbing on the exterior for easy operation even with gloves or wet hands.
  • Rubber gasket or TPU needed to prevent leaking from canister.
