Description
Lovesac Sactional Toy Guard & Under-Couch Blockers
Tired of the endless under-couch void swallowing everything from LEGOs to cat toys and remote controls? This modular, customizable blocker system is designed specifically for the Lovesac Sactional system to create a seamless, invisible barrier, keeping your floors clean and your items secure.
The Problem and the Solution
When printed in Black PLA/PETG, the blockers disappear into the natural shadows beneath your couch. You won’t even know they’re there—but they’ll be working 24/7 to defend your floors.
Key Features:
- Modular & Scalable: Includes multiple blocker lengths and specific connector types for every part of your Sactional configuration (corners, straight sides, and interior joints).
- Telescoping Design: Forget precise measurements! The blockers feature an integrated telescoping mechanism, allowing them to slide and extend for a perfect, friction-fit seal, even if your Sactional pieces aren't perfectly aligned. (See assembly photos in gallery for a clear visual).
- Durability: Field-tested against rogue toddler-flung toys and vacuum cleaner bumps.
- Aesthetic Integration: Designed to fit perfectly with the wooden feet of the Sactional for a flush look.
Component Guide & Where to Use Each Piece
Please use the following component types in conjunction with the planning guide (Image 0) and assembly photos in the gallery.
| Component Type | Purpose & Description | When to Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Long Blocker | The main shield piece. | Used for the wider spans between legs. Can be telescoped to fit. |
| Short Blocker | A smaller shield piece. | Save filament on shorter edges. Still telescoping. |
| Leg-Through Connector | A precise coupler that has a circular passage. | For all corners and straight runs where a Sactional leg is present. The leg passes directly through this piece for a rock-solid, integrated fit. |
| No Leg-Through Connector | An inline, straight coupling piece. | Use this coupler to connect multiple blockers together for a long straight span where no leg is present for support. |
| Interior Corner Connector | A specialized 90-degree internal corner joint. | Used for deep, complex joints where two cushion sections meet inside your Sactional configuration. |
Planning and Installation Guide
To make installation easy, follow these steps using the provided diagrams:
Step 1: Plan Your Config
Before you start printing, map out your Sactional arrangement to determine which pieces and connectors you need. This diagram illustrates a simple 3x2 block, showing you exactly where to place "Leg-Through" (Green) vs. "No Leg-Through" (Blue) points. Draw your own simple plan to count your requirements!
Step 2: Print and Prep
Print your required blockers and connectors. If printing in black, they blend in perfectly. Ensure your telescoping sections slide smoothly.
Step 3: Installation
- For Straight Runs: Connect blockers to form your required lengths. Where a leg is needed, use the Leg-Through connector, passing the leg through. Use the No Leg-Through for mid-span connections.
- For Corners: Use the Interior Corner connector to bridge deep joints. Example image shows a deep corner joint where two cushion segments meet, with the interior connector clearly pointing to its location.
- Final Assembly: Gently push the blockers until they make firm, flush contact with the wooden feet of your Sactional. The friction fit should hold them securely.
Print Recommendations
- Material: Black PLA was strong enough for me. PETG offers slightly more bounce/impact resistance if needed.
- Supports: Designed to print without supports!
- Color: Highly recommended in Black for maximum stealth.
