Universal Direct Drive Mount for 2020 Printers
This mount is made to work on pretty much any printer that runs a 2020 aluminum extrusion for the X‑carriage. If your machine uses a standard 20×20 rail (Ender‑3 style, MakerPi conversions, custom builds, etc.), this setup will bolt on without weird mods or custom hardware.
The idea was simple: one mount, one set of parts, easy swap. You can run different extruders, different hotends, and even move the stepper with an extension cable if you want a cleaner wiring path.
What it does
- Gives you a solid, direct‑drive setup without redesigning your whole carriage
- Fits most compact NEMA 17 extruders
- Uses normal M3 screws and 2020 T‑nuts
- Keeps the weight tight to the rail for better print quality
- Clean cable routing with optional stepper extension
Why it’s useful
A lot of DD mounts are locked to one printer or one extruder. This one is meant to be a universal base you can reuse across different builds. If you upgrade printers or switch extruders, you don’t have to start over — the mount stays the same.
