Description
I have been working on this project for a while, searching for an LED camera ring for auto-scoring systems that doesn't require wall mounting. Existing designs didn't quite convince me for various reasons, so I developed my own solution that simply clips onto the dartboard.
The individual parts can be easily put together, and the camera arms simply click onto the ring. With a surround, everything holds perfectly, but even without one, the system is surprisingly stable. Everything is plugged or clamped, so there are no screws.
I have tested the system with various Winmau boards. I cannot comment on the compatibility with newer number rings with wide edges (like Blade X or TOR).
Please give me feedback, and I will optimize the arms for other models.
The arms provide practical internal cable management for the cameras and the LED strip. All common camera types should fit, and there are holes for both sizes. The camera covers hold very well by clamping, but there are also recesses for magnets, should you prefer to use them.
I used a WS2811 5V LED strip, whose brightness and white tone are completely sufficient for me.
Printing Notes:
- the camera arms are printed with manual supports, which provides good results and uses less material
- The ring elements are relatively large but should still be printable on the A1. Good print bed adhesion is important
- Printed in PLA with 4 wall lines, the ring has already withstood many dart impacts
Currently, I am preparing the files for WLED surround lighting, as well as a housing for Autodarts and WLED via Rasp Pi 5 and ESP32.
