Description

This is the official articulated model of Rocky from the film Project Hail Mary (available here). I've arranged the parts and added supports to ensure it prints properly.

Thank you for your support!

After testing orientation of parts and adding correct supports, I found what I feel is a good balance, please enjoy! If you prefer, you can try rotating the parts individually prior to slicing. The print in the photo is printed at 100% although you can scale it up if you like.

Be sure to view the PDF instructions as this model requires some assembly (snap together, no glue required).

The supports are removed most effectively with pliers or the flush cutters that came with your printer. I only used pliers but if you want easier support removal you can try soaking the model in warm water to help soften the supports.

CHANGE LOG:

  • April 15 - I modified the orientation of the torso so that it's vertical, which helps reduce support artifacts that were showing up on the side.

Great model. I ended up making a small army after my daughter asked for one. The big one is scaled up about 150% and I cut the pieces to make it easier/cleaner to print. Filament is AMOLEN PLA Fossil Gradient Stone

I couldn’t get 4B in for A to snap together, but other than that such a great model

yeah these pieces were super tight. I think if it kept the same ball joint style as the rest of the limbs this would’ve been a easy 5 star. the texture and attention to detail on part orientation sets this profile apart from the others.

Printed just great. Identifying the parts afterwards is challenging because the letters on the legs are too small to print well. However, it’s not that hard.
