Description

Major Tom Rocket Lamp

Overview

Blast off into bedtime with the Major Tom Rocket Lamp, a playful rocket-themed light designed to bring a little space adventure into any child’s room. With its rounded rocket shape, glowing body, and fun star-and-moon cutouts, this lamp creates a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels perfect for winding down at night while still sparking imagination during the day.

What makes this design extra fun is the “fuel” inside the rocket. The body can be filled with your 3D printer’s purge material, turning leftover strands into a colorful glowing core that gives each lamp its own unique look. It is a creative way to reuse material while making the lamp feel even more magical, like a real rocket powered by stardust.

Features

  • Kid-friendly rocket design with soft, rounded styling
  • Star and moon cutouts for extra charm
  • Great for space-themed bedrooms, playrooms, or nurseries
  • Uses purge material as a colorful glowing filler
  • Fun conversation piece that doubles as decor and lamp
  • A creative way to reuse leftover filament

Color Options for the Purge Material Fill

One of the most fun parts of this rocket lamp is choosing the purge material inside. The colors you use will change the look of the lamp and let you create anything from a soft bedtime glow to a bold space-themed display.

Power Options (USB + Portable Charger)

The Remote Control RGB LED Lamp Kit 001 you linked is powered via USB, which opens up two convenient choices:

  • Plug it into a standard USB wall charger

This is the simplest method. The lantern becomes a permanent glowing sculpture on a shelf, desk, or nightstand.

  • Run it from a portable power bank

This turns the lantern into a mobile magical rocket lamp.
Carry it outdoors for nighttime ambiance, bring it to game night, or use it as a glowing prop—no wires, no outlets needed.
