The "Pipe Whisperer" Fishing Rod? – Less Swearing, More Finds

You know how it is
Steel pipe cache… rod in… click … magnet stuck somewhere on the wall…
turn… pull… hope… swear… 😂

This part was created precisely for that purpose

What Makes This Thing Different

The cylinder at the front isn't a magical centralizer – but:

• it calms the movement inside the pipe
• prevents the rod from swinging around completely uncontrolled
• gives you significantly more feel when lowering it

In short:
less chaos, more control

In Practice, This Means

• less "sticking to the wall"
• more precise positioning of the magnet
• significantly less blind poking
• more successful retrieves on the first or second try 😏

Versions

Version 1 (compact):

• Pot magnet 16 mm x 5 mm
• 3x suitable body screws

Version 2 (more power):

• Pot magnet 20 mm x 7 mm
• 3x suitable body screws
• 1x nut 12 mm x 6 mm

Printing Tips (Important!)

• Use PETG or ASA
  → due to significantly better layer adhesion (I find PLA unsuitable)

• I used 6 wall lines and 70% infill to add a bit more weight

   

  In the print profiles, there is a print pause for Version 1; at that point, insert the 17 mm magnet and the 3 washers

  For Version 2, also wait until the pause and then insert the magnet and washers; the nut is only inserted from below after the print is finished
