This detailed miniature depicts a heavily armored knight in impressive plate armor. The design is based on historically inspired fantasy elements and features a striking, authoritative presence.
Painting & Appearance Details
A realistic, “battle-hardened” metal look was achieved through the combination of various techniques:
- Depth & Contrast: The black primer combined with the dark wash gives the armor a natural depth. This creates an authentic shadow effect, especially in the recesses of the joints and armor segments.
- Metal Finish: The silver over-spray gives the armor its typical steel sheen, while the sword blade highlighted with iron paint adds a subtle color accent to the rest of the equipment.
- Refinement: Drybrushing with gold paint highlights the opulent decorations – such as the proud eagle on the breastplate and the ornaments on the shoulders and knees. This makes the figure appear like a high-ranking noble or a paladin.
Characteristics
The knight wears a closed visored helmet (sallet style) and leans on a mighty hand-and-a-half sword. The overall appearance conveys steadfastness and years of experience on the battlefield.
