šŸ”¹ Description
This is a fully parametric and customizable ISO metric bolt with a knurled cylindrical head.
Simply click the Customize button and adjust a few parameters to create the bolt according to your needs.
Once the parameters are set, click Generate to update the model and download the STL file of your custom bolt via Download.

A ready-to-use print profile is also included, covering a range of bolts from M3 to M10, allowing immediate printing of the most common sizes.
Additionally, an STL file is provided for each standard ISO bolt (from M1.6 to M64).

šŸ”¹ Main Parameters
Let’s see how to configure the parameters.

  • ISO Size (from M1.6 to M64)
    Nominal metric thread size (e.g., M6, M8, M10).

In most cases, selecting one of the predefined values is enough to obtain a standard ISO bolt of the desired size.

If you want a non-standard bolt, you can modify the other parameters.

Each parameter follows this rule:
Ā   • if set to 0, the standard ISO value is used
Ā   • if set to a value other than 0, the entered value is applied
Ā   • physically inconsistent combinations will generate an error during model creation

  • Shank Length
Length of the smooth shank below the head, before the thread begins.

  • Thread Length
Total length of the threaded portion of the bolt.

  • Knurled head
    Knurled head (yes or no).

  • Head Diameter
    Diameter of the bolt head.

  • Head Height
    Height of the bolt head.

šŸ”¹ Advanced Settings (for experienced users)

  • Pitch
    Metric thread pitch.

  • Tolerance
Tolerance applied to the external thread to compensate for FDM printing inaccuracies and ensure proper fit with ISO metric nuts.

The default value is 0.02 mm, which has been tested to provide good compatibility with both 3D printed and metal nuts.

šŸ”¹ Printing Notes

For smaller sizes or higher precision, a 0.1 mm layer height is recommended.
For M1.6 and M2 sizes, a 0.2 mm nozzle is recommended.
3D printed components are less strong than metal ones and are intended for light, non-structural use.

Recommended print settings:

  • Layer height: 0.1 mm
  • Perimeters: 3 (increase for higher strength)
  • Infill: 25%
  • No supports
