Description
MTB Dummy Hub with Chain Keeper — 12x148 Boost
A print-in-place rear dummy hub for Boost (12x148) mountain bikes. Drops into the rear dropouts in place of the wheel so you can transport, wash, or service your bike without stressing the derailleur, rotor, or frame — and the integrated chain keeper holds the chain tensioned so it won't flop around or drop off.
What it's for:
- Transporting the bike in a car, bike bag, or shipping box with the rear wheel removed
- Washing and drivetrain cleaning without the wheel in the way
- Keeping the rear triangle properly spaced so nothing gets squeezed or bent
- Retaining the chain at proper tension during transport and service
Features:
- Print-in-place — no assembly, no hardware, comes off the build plate ready to use
- Integrated chain keeper
- Fits standard 12x148 Boost thru-axle frames
Print settings:
- Material: PETG recommended (ABS/ASA also good); PLA works for light/occasional use
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Infill: 40–60%
- Walls: 3–4 perimeters
Supports: not required (print-in-place)
Notes: Double-check your axle length before printing — most Boost frames are 148 mm but some have small variations. Use your existing thru-axle to secure it in the dropouts. Not for riding or pedaling under load — transport and maintenance only.
