Sarah Jane Smith – Doctor Who – 1:10 Scale Figure

This 3D print presents Sarah Jane Smith in a poised, elegant full-body sculpt at roughly 1:10 scale. The figure captures a calm, self-assured presence, with her head turned slightly to one side as if reacting to something just out of view. The stance is relaxed but purposeful, giving the model a very natural, character-driven look rather than a rigid museum pose.

The overall silhouette is slim and balanced, with the weight carried mostly through one leg while the other steps forward lightly. This creates a subtle sense of movement, as though she has just paused mid-step. The pose works especially well for display because it feels dynamic without becoming exaggerated.

Her hairstyle is one of the strongest visual features of the sculpt. The shoulder-length hair is layered and softly curled, with sweeping volume around the sides of the face and more pronounced sculpted waves toward the ends. The model captures the recognizable late-classic Doctor Who look very effectively. Even in a single-color print, the hair retains strong visual depth thanks to the overlapping strands and curved locks.

The outfit is fitted and highly stylized, with a distinctly period-inspired appearance:

  • a close-fitting blouse with a ruffled neckline
  • short puffed sleeves with matching ruffle bands
  • a narrow, cinched waist
  • slim trousers with visible folds and light creasing
  • heeled ankle boots with tied or wrapped detailing at the top

The blouse is especially well modeled. The ruffled collar frames the neckline cleanly, and the front fastening line is visible down the torso. The fabric tension across the chest and waist creates a tailored appearance, while the lower hem ruffle adds another decorative layer that helps separate the upper garment from the trousers. This gives the figure a fashionable, screen-inspired look while also providing nice print definition.

The trousers are sculpted with gentle wrinkles around the hips, knees, and calves, giving them a natural fabric feel. They narrow cleanly toward the ankles and transition into the boots without looking bulky. The footwear has a slightly dressy look, which suits the figure well and helps reinforce the character’s stylish presentation.

From the front, the face reads as composed and observant. The features are delicate rather than exaggerated, with a soft jawline, defined nose, and subtle lips. At this size, some facial elements are naturally simplified by the printing process, but the expression still comes across clearly. The slight head turn adds a great deal of personality and makes the model feel more alive from multiple viewing angles.

From the side and rear, the figure remains visually strong. The back view highlights the smooth taper through the waist and the fall of the hair across the upper back. The rear sculpt of the blouse and trousers is clean, with restrained folds that keep the figure elegant rather than overworked. The back of the hair is especially successful, with curled ends that add texture and depth.

As a 3D print, the model shows typical FDM characteristics:

  • fine layer lines are visible on larger smooth areas such as the legs and torso
  • some very slight stringing appears around finer details, particularly near the hair and ruffles
  • delicate edges, like the blouse frills and facial contours, are softened slightly by print resolution

Even so, the print holds detail well for this scale. The sculpt relies on strong overall forms, readable costume elements, and a graceful pose, all of which translate nicely into a physical display piece.

Overall, this is an elegant and recognizable Sarah Jane Smith figure with a strong silhouette, attractive costume detail, and a natural sense of movement. It works especially well as a display model for Doctor Who fans who appreciate companion characters and classic-era styling. The sculpt balances likeness, clothing detail, and printability very effectively, making it a striking piece in a 1:10 scale collection.
