Description

A tall, tapered air-pruning pot inspired by the classic Qingshan (青山盆) / Japanese slit pot (スリット鉢) design. Root tips grow toward the vertical slots, hit air, and naturally stop — promoting a dense, fibrous root system instead of root-bound spiraling.

 

Features

  • Tapered profile: 101.6mm (4") at the rim, 85mm at the base — stable, elegant, and easy to pull plants for repotting
  • 12 vertical air-pruning slots: running 60% up the wall for maximum root training
  • Flared lip rim: 6mm outward flare at the top for comfortable grip and a finished look
  • 7 drainage holes: 1 large center + 6 around the bottom — fast drainage for root health
  • Tall 130mm body: extra depth for orchids, aroids, and deep-rooting tropicals

Why Air-Pruning Pots?
Traditional smooth pots cause roots to circle the wall, becoming root-bound. Air-pruning slots expose root tips to air, stopping elongation and triggering lateral branching. The result: a denser, healthier root ball that transplants better and absorbs nutrients more efficiently.
