This is a functional interlocking repair collar designed to rescue a cracked or broken slat. Instead of trashing the whole piece of wood or using massive amounts of duct tape, you can print these two halves and snap them tightly around the fracture. The dovetail style joint locks everything in place securely without needing extra hardware or messy glue.
I modeled this specifically to fix a wooden bed frame but it works perfectly as a reinforcement sleeve for any rectangular wooden profile of the same dimensions. The tight tolerances on the snap fit joint give it excellent lateral strength once assembled. Just measure your broken wood piece and scale the model slightly in your slicer if you need a tighter or looser fit for your specific wooden frame.
