IKEA VIHALS Extended Handle

Just an extended handle for the IKEA VIHALS cabinet with sliding doors.

I was looking for a possiblity to grab the handle of the inner door while the outer door is fully open (take a look at the photos). The design of the handle allows to slide both doors at once: sliding the outer door pushes the inner door, too, and vice versa.

To render it more rigid / stiff I choose a thickness of 3 mm for the handle instead of the 1.5 mm thickness of the original (metal) handles. All other parameters, like hole positions, hole diameter and handle shape, have been adpoted. You can use the original screws.

Printed it with PLA (with is typically more stiff than PETG), but PETG/PETG-HF might work as well.

Tipp: I decided to move both handles futher to the top of the cabinet to allow for easier opening and closing. In my example, I drilled 4 new holes with a 3.0 mm drill using the handles as drilling template. The distance between the top edge of the handle and the upper edge of the door I chose to be 90 mm.
