Custom Hose Adapter Generator

Every brand of dust vac seems to have its own standard for hoses and accessories. If you own multiple brands, you'll someday face the frustration of having accessories that don't fit the vacuum you want to use.

Use this model to create one or more custom adapters that make any hose and accessory fit together.

Refer to the following diagram while following the procedure below:

Follow this procedure for specifying the dimensions:

• Measure the outer diameter of the male hose fitting you want to use
  • Use calipers if you have them
  • Measure not at the tip, but at the midway point of the tapered fitting
  • Enter this for the “Female ID” parameter
• Set “Female Length” to match the length of the taperd part of the hose
• Measure the inner diameter of the accessory you want to use
  • Use calipers if possible
  • Measure not at the top, but as far into the accessory as your calipers will reach
  • Enter this for the “Male OD” parameter
• Set "Male Length" to match the length of the taperd part of the accessory
• You can leave all other parameters at their default values (unless you have a special case)

Click “Generate”, download resulting STL, drop into slicer, and print. For best adhesion, print with larger end down. See the included profile for three example adapters.

Use ABS, if possible, for better strength.
