Four-Motor Four-Wheel Drive Platform based on CyberBrick

This project has been in progress for several months, overturned again and again, but finally, it's done!

Apart from the CyberBrick super combination hardware kit and M2*4 thin-head hex flat-head screws, there are no additional hardware parts; core transmission components like universal joints are all 3D printed.

Power:

The four wheels of this platform are driven by corresponding reducer modules. The reducer scheme chosen is the official one. If you are not satisfied with the power, you can purchase PK030-13110 drive motors externally, which can perfectly replace the official motors, providing approximately three times more power. (Note: If power upgrade is needed, please confirm the drive shaft length on the corresponding shopping platform; the official motor's shaft length is 6.6mm.)

 

Suspension:

Each of the four drive wheels is equipped with a double-wishbone suspension module, allowing the suspension's softness or hardness to be adjusted by adding or removing shock absorber spring shims.

Control:

Since the CyberBrick kit defaults to one chip controlling only two motors, this design uses two chips for simultaneous control, handling the front two tires and the rear two tires separately. While ensuring the same rotational speed, it can achieve complex maneuvers like turning in place and drifting.

Off-road Capability:

The double-wishbone suspension provides high ground clearance, allowing the platform to navigate relatively complex terrain. Furthermore, with independent control of the four motors, torque can be independently distributed when only one tire has traction, enabling escape from difficult situations. Tires can be made from 85A or softer materials to provide sufficient grip.

Expandability:

Dual-chip control offers unique expansion possibilities. Each chip can control 4 servos and two sets of lights, allowing this platform to expand with up to 8 servos and four sets of lights.

Appearance Expansion:

The platform has multiple expansion mounting holes. Creative individuals can independently design their preferred appearance using the STP files in the attachments. Of course, I will also update the corresponding appearance kits later.
