Description

This model is a new casing system for the TPU Feed Assist Module kit proposed by Bambu Lab.

I was not sold on the very basic design of the casing proposed by Bambu Lab, so I decided to design my own.

I am very happy with the result, it worked flawlessly since I have received my kit so I decided to share it here.

The goals and specifications are :

  • a better look : I think this design is a bit more refined than the original proposal
  • a better feel : I made the activation buttons flush with the top surface and a bit larger too. This way you will not damage the electronic switch if the module fall on the buttons side, and it feels really better on the fingers too
  • quick release of the PTFE tubes!!! Like other models I propose, I have added quick release buttons to ease the connection and removal of the PTFE tubes. Once again, the buttons also help to protect the internal parts by covering them. The output button can slide which will not interfere with the internal mechanism
  • a bigger led cover : the really tiny part of the original design was a bit hard to insert with big fingers!
  • a dust cover is provided, it sits flush with the top surface
  • compatible with the original mouting systems : the casing is compatible with the brackets already existing
  • no other part or hardware needed : you will re-use the components provided by Bambu

The building process is very similar to the original, so you can re-use the instructions from the Wiki to build it. However I have made the assembly guide you will find at the bottom of the page with updated pictures.

I hope you will enjoy it too, please send me a message if you find some improvements can be made!

Looks awesome and I love the changes you made. I printed in PLA Matte with .6 nozzles and it looks clean. Your assembly guide was actually better than Bambu's. Great job and much thanks.

Thanks for the pictures and the comment, it is a nice color choice. To be fair, my assembly guide is not really different from the one of Bambu but thank you anyway!

Give yourself a little credit! I had them open side by side and yours was referenced more than theirs because I found that it had a bit more clarity for my caveman brain.

I had already printed the original from Bambu Lab, but I find your designed model absolutely brilliant and have now printed this one for my X1C. This is definitely worth a boost. Thanks for this great design and for your work!

Would you mind sharing the file for your buttons please? I like that painted and filled in look, but no idea how to do that. Thanks.

After printing the original, I've now printed your alternative and better case in Prusament PETG Galaxy Black. It looks great and works perfectly. Thanks!

When I got the module, I printed the one from Bambu Lab and while it worked fine, I saw this one and loved the more elegant look. The print turned out perfect in PETG-CF.

great model! I had one issue unfortunately I only discovered after printing its not 100% compatible height wise with the ams flipper mount and the ams unit touches the touches feeder just a tad when fully extended but I think thats a me issue :)

It seems the bracket you are using is a bit too high. I have seen at least 1 another model which seems to offer a better fit when used with the AMS Flipper : https://makerworld.com/en/models/2578864-tpu-feed-assist-module-mount-for-ams-flipper?from=search#profileId-2844024
