Clay slab building cup mold - C
Print Profile(1)

Description
This model can be used to create a shape/mold for hand/slab building with ceramic clay. It's a taller version of model “B”.
There's two versions, one for printing in two pieces and gluing the bottom on afterwards. And one to print it in one piece with supports, if you prefer that.
There was a bit of black filament left in my extruder, so my pictures doesn't look great at the top, sorry..
Please be aware that the clay will stick to the mold if you don't use something inbetween! I use an old pantyhose pulled over the mold before wrapping the clay around it, but you could also cover the model with a layer of corn starch/corn flour.
Please also don't leave the model in, while the clay dries, as clay will shrink when it dries and then crack around it. Always remove the mold while the clay is semi wet (just dry enough to hold it's shape).
Remember that ceramic clay will shrink about 10% after firing! (this differs a lot depending on clay, the oven and firing temperature though.)
These molds are a hit at the workshop I attend and I haven't had a single one break yet (glued together) despite being dropped on the floor and have even been used by kids at local events.
I hope this can bring you joy in your creative endeavour, happy making! 🌞
