Bring a touch of Zen and harmony to your Bonsai collection with this traditional Japanese stone lantern (Tōrō).

I created this model specifically for the Bonsai Design Contest. While a bonsai is a living organic masterpiece, traditional Japanese gardens rely on the contrast between nature and stone elements to create a perfect balance.

Inspired by the classic Yukimi-doro (the "snow-viewing" lantern, with its wide roof and curved legs), this 3D Printed lantern is the perfect companion for your real or brick-built Bonsai, for a terrarium, or a minimalist desk. It adds proportion and an'atmosphere of peace to any miniature landscape.

The model can be easily scaled in your slicer to perfectly fit the dimensions of your pot or diorama. You can print it in PLA or PETG (PLA Marble or Matte effect is ideal for simulating stone).

I hope this lantern brings tranquility to your space. If you print it, please share a photo near your bonsai, I would love to see your setup!

Happy printing and stay Zen!

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I designed it to be printed without supports, did you use my print profile? Which kind of issue did you had?

Adhesion problems on the build plate with the original profile

Oh, I see...Usually, if the legs detach from the bed, it’s due to the small contact surface. I recommend ensuring the build plate is perfectly clean (with dish soap or IPA) and maybe slowing down the first layer speed. However, to help everyone, I will soon upload an "Extra Adhesion" profile with a larger brim to make it even easier to print. Thanks for helping me improve the model!
