Description

Sideholder that allows the AMS HT to be mounted on the side of your P1S. Requires the use of the AMS Flipper or at least one of the handles of the Flipper. (https://makerworld.com/de/models/1363398-ams-flipper-better-access-to-your-p1s-x1c-p2s#profileId-1770033)

The model mounts the AMS HT higher so that it is almost next to the AMS on top of your printer.

This version is designed in such a way that the model can be printed on a P1S with the smaller bed. You will have to print both parts and assemble them with CA glue. Both parts fit on the 256mm bed of a P1S. It is recommended to use ABS or PETG to print this model for stability and durability.

The provided standard print profile prints it for a right side mount, but you can easily mirror the model along the x-axis to print a left-mount version. The provided step files originally are designed to mount on the left side.

If you have access to an H2S or H2D you can use the provided step file to print the complete model without using the individual parts and assembling them.

UPDATE 18.05.26:

I have modified the model files so that the layout of the cutouts match the position of the AMS HT feet better, additionally the cutouts for the opening in the back of the printer is longer, this should now fit to the X2D as well. But since I do not have this model I cannot guarantee it.

Also, there is now an additional profile for a version that mounts the AMT HT even higher so that the AMS HT will be on the same level as the AMS on top of the printer.

All relevant files are published as step files to make your modifications easier. I would be glad to hear from your adaptions.

Thanks so much for the great side mount design. I spent the past 4 days adapting the concept to the X2D/P2S frame - https://makerworld.com/en/models/2737201-ams-ht-side-mount-for-x2d-p2s-with-ams-flipper#profileId-3034756 - and making a few core improvements and new add-on mods for it to natively integrate with my front support bracket I made which is compatible with your P1S version. Published here for anyone who has Will.I.Am.G's design printed: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2713340-ams-ht-side-mount-front-bracket-for-x2d-p1s-p2s#profileId-3034778 Technically my notch front side is also backwards compatible with your model, so anyone who would like to mix and match your backside for P1S with my technically universal front side could do so. As for the new backside - that took some more work as the flipper handle geometry changed, so I had to re-mold it for a tight fit before I worked on my redesign of the angle bracket and add-ons for the X2D filament track switch.

Unfortunately, I don't have an X2D printer, so I haven't published a profile either. However, the author of the pinball machine has published a separate profile for the P2S/X2D printers. I couldn't find out if the handles themselves are different. Therefore, I would be very grateful to owners of one of these printers (P2S/X2D) who could test this.

Hey there, I have printed the flipper for X2D and yes, it is different to the P1S version, as the screws locations and the linear bay outdent have changed, so your model sits a little too far up with the current bay cutout in the correct location and so the flipper handle won't go down, but if we push your model down, it would press on the bay of the guides, which obviously could be a problem for the machine frame. Someone else published a remix model of yours and claimed they adapted your model for the X2D, but they didn't actually, they just copied your model exactly and so I found out the hard way. I have reported those model copies already to avoid other people with X2D's making the mistake thinking they're going to print that one and then find out hours later it doesn't work and potentially harming their machine.

Thankfully you published your step files, so that makes it easy to try to adapt it with the right measurements. I'll see if I find a moment and do it myself and report back if I do :) I'll probably also see if I can incorporate my front bracket natively to the mount, I'm thinking of a slide in piece, so it stays removable if someone wants to access the top glass. If I get it working, I'll be happy to report back if you want to incorporate it for your P1S version :) By the way, as I loaded up your model I noticed that the rubber feet cutouts appear to be slightly shifted off center (see picture).

A mirroring of the model in the slicer on the X-axis should suffice

Have you checked if this one works for the X2D? I see no difference on the handle, but I don't want to print it without confirming.

@dnuma - I have now finished my design of the AMS HT side-mount bracket to be fully compatible with the X2D and a newly designed Filament Track Switch mount that is compatible (but optional) for it. You can find my new X2D sibling to @Will.I.Am.G 's great P1S model here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2737201
