Solar Filter Adapter for Sony 70-350 G OSS (67mm)

Print this 3D adapter in two parts to protect your Sony 70-350 G OSS during eclipses or extreme conditions. It allows for quick removal of the solar filter during the maximum phase.

Materials Needed

  • Solar filter “AstroSolar Safety Film OD 5.0” for example.
  • Cyanoacrylate

Design and Assembly

  • Inner radius of the legs: 2 mm larger than the maximum lens diameter for quick removal.
  • Inner diameter of the filter legs: 77mm
  • Lid with relief to house the filter and glue to the base.
  • Take a sample from the middle part of the lid, cut it out and glue it with double-sided tape.

Assembly

  • Join both parts with 4-8 drops of Loctite (cyanoacrylate) or similar adhesive on the lid.
  • Add fabric tape to the inside of the legs to prevent slipping without losing ease of use.
