Keycaps for Kailh Choc V2 | 16mm Pitch
Print Profile(1)

Description
These keycaps were designed for one of my custom keyboard projects.
They are made for compact keyboards with a 16mm × 16mm key pitch, sometimes called narrow-pitch (狭ピッチ) keyboards in Japan. The switch opening size is 15.5mm × 15.5mm.
The keycaps use an MX stem.
I specifically checked the fit with Kailh Choc V2 switches, which is the main target for this design.
They should also be compatible with standard Cherry MX-style switches, as long as the stem matches normal MX dimensions.
The model is arranged on multiple build plates:
- one plate contains 9 standard keycaps
- one plate contains 1 homing keycap
- one plate contains 1 thumb keycap
No supports are required for printing.
However, because the details are quite fine, I strongly recommend using a 0.2mm nozzle. In my testing, a 0.4mm nozzle resulted in many more print failures.
A STEP file is also included, so you can modify or remix the design if you like.
About the included 3MF file:
When printing many keycaps at once, I often had failures caused by the nozzle catching on other printed parts. To reduce this, the 3MF file is set to print by object instead of print by layer. This reduces the number of parts you can print at once, but improves reliability.
In my own testing, I successfully printed 9 keycaps at once using print-by-object settings.
You can still try printing a full set for both hands at once using print-by-layer, but that is at your own risk.
Because the contact area with the build plate is quite small, I recommend cleaning the build plate before printing and, if possible, using a high-adhesion plate.
