MagSafe Mount + Sun Hood for DJI RC-N1

The stock phone clamp on the DJI RC-N1 controller presses directly on side buttons on many phones. Shifting the phone to avoid this throws off the balance and makes the controller uncomfortable to use.

This model solves both problems.

It’s a modular setup that lets you mount your phone using MagSafe, while keeping proper balance and avoiding accidental button presses. It’s inspired by a solution from Task on Printables, but redesigned to work without needing a pre-built car mount.

Instead, this version uses MagSafe magnet rings (e.g. these from AliExpress), making it simpler, cheaper, and more flexible.

On top of that, I’ve added an optional sun hood to improve screen visibility in bright conditions. The hood slides into an integrated slot on the MagSafe bracket.

Because the hood reduces clearance to the control sticks, I also modified Task’s original adapter to give you more room and a better overall experience.

What’s included:

• MagSafe bracket (for magnet rings)

Build plates:

• Plate 1: Full setup with sun hood
• Plate 2: Compact version without sun hood + original (short) adapter

Tested with:

• iPhone 17 Pro with Native Union case

Additional notes:

• The sunshade fits in only one direction. Slide it in the direction showed by the arrow (or 180 degrees to the arrow) on the magsafe-bracket (see the picure in the documentation section)
• When folded, the sun hood fits inside an aftermarket carrying case for the DJI Neo 2 (AliExpress – recommended). Probably fits other cases as well 😊
