Sustainable Replacement Cutlery Basket with Detachable Handle

This model was born out of necessity: my old cutlery basket had broken at the bottom, causing the cutlery to constantly slip through. Since the new design was so convincing in testing, I want to share it with you!

The design was created in Tinkercad and is a tribute to classic, robust dish baskets. It is lightweight, fast to print, and saves material without losing stability.

Special Features:

• Detachable Handle: Practical for cleaning or if the basket needs to be placed under low compartments.
• Optimized Bottom: Closely meshed enough so that even small cutlery does not slip through.
• Fast Print: Despite its size, the design is optimized for print speed.

Dimensions (assembled):

• Length: 240 mm
• Width: 140 mm
• Height: 250 mm

Printing Recommendation for max. Durability: I recommend PETG, as it is more heat-resistant than PLA – especially important if the basket comes into contact with hot water or near the dishwasher.

For optimal hold, I recommend connecting the handle and the cutlery basket with superglue.

Durable Replacement Cutlery Basket with Detachable Handle

I designed this model because my original dishwasher basket broke at the bottom, and the cutlery kept slipping through. This replacement works so well that I decided to share it with the community!

Recommended Settings: For best results and durability, I recommend using PETG due to its better heat resistance compared to PLA.

For the best hold, I recommend attaching the handle to the cutlery basket with superglue.
