đ§ Parameters
- gapLipHeight: Vertical height of the rear lip that inserts into the wall-to-desk gap. This dimension determines how deep into the wall gap the lip inserts.
- gapLipThickness: Front-to-back thickness of the lip that inserts into the wall-to-desk gap. This dimension determines how tightly the part fits inside the wall gap.
- wedgeRearHeight â Height of the rear wall above the slope
- wedgeDepth â Depth of the wedge from wall to front edge that directs debris away from the gap.
- wedgeFrontHeight â Height of the front-most edge of the wedge.
- width â Total width of the part along the desk wall (This does not include any protruding link).
- fitTolerance â A small subtractive value applied to various contact areas to compensate for printer tolerances. Especially useful with materials like PETG, which can swell slightly.
- sideNotchDepth â Horizontal depth of the notch cut from the end of the model, measured from the rear wall edge toward the front edge.
- sideNotchWidth â Width of the notch along the rear wall edge at the side end of the model.
đ§ How to Dial It In
- Set length to your desk width divided into lengths that will fit on your build plate (remember that you can rotate the model diagonally on the build plate to fit longer lengths)
- Adjust wedgeDepth for slope preference
đ¨ď¸ Print Recommendations
- Smooth build plate is recommended
- Print upside down on a smooth plate
- No supports needed
â ď¸ Notes
- Larger lip thickness may require tolerance adjustment depending on material
- Designed specifically for wall-to-desk gaps, not floating between two surfaces
𧟠Final Thought
This is not just a gap cover.
It is a debris interception system.
A crumb denial device.
A printer poop containment strategy.
