Description

For Live Bonsai or Display

This planter is designed for use either as a live bonsai pot or as a display piece with the included stylized cherry blossom bonsai. The cat is a Japanese lucky cat, or maneki-neko, traditionally depicted with a raised paw to signify good fortune, peeking over the saucer tray with both paws raised for extra good luck!

It would look amazing with a whimsically designed and well cared for bonsai tree, which I plan to do for myself in the near future. In the meantime, I love how it looks with the included printed tree.

The pot itself includes drainage and wire holes in a layout suited for bonsai. These are provided as negative objects in case you want to adjust them for your specific plant, or remove them if you are making it solely as decor. The saucer is kept simple to complement the pot design and includes two adjustable brushstroke-styled raised ridges to allow for proper drainage.

The sakura bonsai can be printed on an insert that fits neatly into the pot. The three foliage pieces print separately from the trunk with supports on the underside, then slide onto the limbs of the trunk. Super glue is recommended, but not required. The trunk also requires supports, and the profile has been adjusted so long tree supports can reach the branches properly. The trunk and substrate insert are also included as separate pieces for any custom uses of the pot or plant you may have in mind.
