Description
Brief Description
Design: Modular, 3D Printed bottle holder especially for beer bottles without swing tops. The construction consists of annular holding elements that are stacked via threads on a central pipe. The bottles neatly snap into the recesses and sit securely. The parts are printed with a 0.8mm nozzle, as the layers can better support the weight of the bottles, and print time is also reduced.
Technical Specifications
- Bottle Holder Diameter: 190 mm (Inner diameter of the annular holders).
- Support Pipe: Minimum 200 mm outer diameter required (KG pipe); Seal pipe ends with suitable caps.
- Capacity: Standard version for 15 bottles, modularly expandable.
- Connection: Modules are threaded; central axle/pipe bears the load.
Notes on Reproduction and Material
- Hardware Store Components: Pipe and end caps are readily available at hardware stores.
- Tolerances: Ensure precise thread tolerances so that modules fit without play and securely.
- Stability Consideration: No problems were observed with 15 bottles; with further expansion, the load on the threads and the central pipe may increase, which can reduce stability.
Print Recommendations and Support Separation
- Material Recommendation: PETG is recommended due to its toughness and weather resistance.
- Separation Layer Tip: When printing with supports, use a thin PETG separation layer between the support and the part so that supports can be removed more easily. If the part itself is printed in PETG, PLA is recommended as a separation layer.
- Surface Finish: Ensure clean post-processing on the snap-in surfaces so that bottles snap in easily and do not get stuck.
Assembly and Use
- Assembly: Screw threaded modules onto the pipe, install end caps, and if necessary, use a central screw or nut for additional fixation.
- Use: Suitable for garden, patio, or events; modular design facilitates transport and storage.
- Safety: Regularly check threaded connections; replace modules if visible signs of wear appear. In winter, bottles must be removed, as ground frost can cause them to burst!!
Conclusion
A well-designed, modular 3D printing project for 15 beer bottles without swing tops, which can be easily replicated and expanded with commercially available KG pipes. When expanding beyond the 15-bottle configuration, the thread and pipe stability should be critically reviewed to ensure long-term safety.
